Rishma Vallani
With her expertise, knowledge and passion for quality adjudication and early return to work, Rishma Vallani (She/Her) moved into Practice & Quality Support Services as a Return to Work Compliance Officer in January 2024. In her role, she provides education and guidance to staff and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the new Bill 41 legislation involving the duty to cooperate and duty to maintain employment which came into effect January 1, 2024. Rishma started her career at WorkSafeBC in 1993, as an Occupational Therapist in the Rehabilitation Centre, where she worked in the general work hardening program, Occupational Rehabilitation 2 Program, Return to Work Support Services, and the Pain and Medication Management Program. Rishma also participated in a research study “Preventing Accident Repetition” where she was responsible for providing education to high-risk workers and providing their employers with ergonomic recommendations to prevent injuries. Rishma moved on to being a Case Manager in 2002 in the Burnaby Service Delivery Location where she worked with many of the external health care providers to facilitate recovery and early return to work; as well as mentored many case managers.
