In her role as Manager for the Return to Work Compliance Team at WorkSafeBC, Jackie provides guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the Bill 41 legislation involving the duty to cooperate and duty to maintain employment, which came into effect on January 1, 2024. Jackie has given presentations about these obligations to other groups, including the Lancaster House, the Employers’ Forum, the Workers Compensation Advocates Group, the Labour Arbitration Conference, and the WorkSafeBC Manager Conference.

Prior to taking on her new role, Jackie was a Practice and Quality Support Services Manager where she provided guidance to directors, managers and staff to ensure effective implementation of divisional strategies, policies and practices.  Jackie's journey at WorkSafeBC began in the Review Division as a Review Officer and acting Assistant Registrar. Her diverse background also includes a successful career as a child protection lawyer and civil litigator.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jackie is committed to continuous learning, community involvement and volunteerism. She contributes her insights to various boards, including the White Rock Farmers’ Market and as Chair of Governance for an independent school.  You can find her curling on Fridays nights with her husband in a couples’ league.
