
Karen Takai is a Program Manager in Health Care Programs (HCP’s) at WorkSafeBC. She is a registered Physiotherapist with her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Sciences from UBC. She worked clinically for 12 years in the area of musculoskeletal injury, focusing predominantly on return to work and function. During this time, she also received her certificate in Vestibular Rehabilitation from Emory University and specialized in the treatment of Concussion and Vestibular Injuries. In 2013 she joined WSBC initially in HCP’s where she was a Quality Assurance Supervisor and then became a Case Manager in 2014 where she worked in a variety of areas including Construction as well as with Trauma/Assault Claims. In 2022 she returned to HCP’s as a Program Manager and now oversees all of the concussion services for injured workers as well as Hand Therapy, Chiropractic Treatment, Massage Therapy, and Acupuncture Treatment.
