Tanya Houghton M.H.A., CHE, CPHR
Tanya Houghton is the senior director of Health Care and Specialized Claims Services at WorkSafeBC. Tanya completed her bachelor’s degree in human and social development at the University of Victoria and her master of health administration at the University of British Columbia. Tanya is a Certified Health Executive (CHE) with the Canadian College of Health Leaders, a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), and a qualified social worker with Social Work England.
Tanya brings over 20 years’ experience specializing in occupational health and safety and the delivery of mental and physical health programming, supports, and provisions across all levels of government and the workers’ compensation system. With a career that has spanned four countries, Tanya brings an innovative and global perspective to her leadership role at WorkSafeBC. With a strong background in social work and mental health, Tanya is keenly interested in the influence of social determinants of health on the recovery and return-to-work outcomes of injured workers and how WorkSafeBC can partner with health care providers as partners in care.
